In celebration of our 50th Anniversary Year, we are hosting an extra special week of Camp this summer that will combine elementary and jr high camp into the same week. All yoUUth completing grades 3 - 7 (going into 4th and going into 8th in the fall) will join together for a fantastic week of UU Camp--paradise in the mountains! Fun, adventure, skills-building, worship, and making life-long UU friends are woven into each day's experience.

We realize this age grouping may mean your little one is not quite old enough to come to camp this summer.  We will be back to our usual schedule and grade cut offs in 2012.

PLEASE NOTE: Scholarship funds may be available from the PSWD. If you think you may qualify please Click Here to download a form and follow the instructions on the form to complete and submit the application.

Come join us this summer for a unique camp experience. For this year only we will have a combined camp grades 4th - 8th with an emphasis on Community! 2011 is not only the 50th anniversary of the Unitarian Universalist Association (our larger religious community), but also the 50th anniversary of Camp de Benneville Pines (our camp community). Throughout the week we will focus on how important UNITY is in community - not just within our larger religious and camp community, but with everyone with whom we share the world. We will celebrate the larger world community and the beautiful diversity it encompasses.

Dean:  Kathe Larick

Youth Deans: Lauren Harris and Pam Osborn Popp

Since 2011 is the 50th anniversary of Unitarian Universalism and of Camp de Benneville Pines, we will be celebrating by delving into the past to learn how we can influence the future. We want to learn what defines us as UUs so we can better understand our faith and where it will take us. We will be taking the last five decades and incorporating them into our camp activities -- like an eighties theme dance and a futuristic banquet! We can't wait to see you this summer.

Meadville Lombard Theological School Graduate Course - Reality Youth Ministry
Instructors: Tera Little and Dori Davenport Thexton

During this weeklong intensive, we will engage our heads, hearts and hands as we delve into the theology of Unitarian Universalist youth ministry in real time. This course is an overview of Unitarian Universalist youth ministry. While we will use resources drawn from other faith traditions as well as our own, the question we will keep coming back to is: How do we embody youth ministry in our Unitarian Universalist faith and congregations?

The course takes place in the midst of an annual Senior High Summer Camp at Camp de Benneville Pines. Morning sessions will include theory learning and discussion; afternoons provide opportunities to work directly with the subject of our course – high school UU youth; and evenings will be spent in theological reflection on what we have seen, heard and felt throughout the course of the day. There will be time for individual rest, relaxation, and reflection too.

Course may be taken for credit hours or as an audit. Cost is: $200 per student
