Camp de Benneville Pines Craig's Cabin
We've Come A Long Way, Baby!
| No one can deny that Craig's Cabin is a beautiful building.
Camp de Benneville is so fortunate to have had the volunteer
dollars and volunteer worker hours to build an upgraded meeting/sleeping facility. Lee Wright of the Long Beach
UU Church donated the majority of the money, and many other supporters have made donations which collectively total
over $50,000. The cabin is named in honor of Lee's son, Craig, whose life is memorialized in our beautiful
new building. |

Craig's Cabin provides more luxurious accommodations for
Camp de Benneville program participant. In addition, the cabin is
available for rent as a self contained program site. It will
sleep up to 25 people in the 9 bedrooms. There are three
bathrooms each with showers and one has handicap facilities.
There is a meeting room with a fireplace, adjacent to the
kitchen/dining area. A TV with VCR allows viewing
video cassettes. If you have not been to Camp deBenneville Pines
for several years you are in for a real treat when you stay in Craig's
Cabin. |
| The new rustic furniture has been acquired from a local furniture company which custom makes each piece in Big Bear.
The chairs and tables are in the theme of rustic log furniture which is so popular these days.
Comfortable seat cushions coordinate with the window coverings. Susan Pierce, a long-time camp supporter
and professional wall decorator, has volunteered her time and created a border of Ponderosa pine cones/boughs on
the kitchen wall and over the East and West entrances. She trained
volunteers to personalize
the bedrooms and create additional decorations for each room. Click
here to download a floor plan of
the cabin. (Works best with MS Word, downloads as a .doc file) Thank you for participating in the last phase of the Craig's Cabin fund raising campaign and celebrating with
us. Click here to see a list of those
who have contributed financially to this beautiful mountain lodge.
